Volleyball Skills Camp

Program Description: Serving the beginner to intermediate, the Volleyball Skills camp will focus on the basic techniques of passing, setting, serving and attacking. Volleyball rules and strategy will be taught in a fun, positive environment.
Instructors: Elizabeth Ledford is the former Ravenscroft Head Coach of the Varsity Volleyball team at Ravenscroft. She came to the school in the fall of 2012, having previously served as Head Volleyball Coach at St. David's School, and left after the 2016 season. Prior to that, she was a Head Volleyball Coach for NC Elite Volleyball Club and Emory and Henry College in Emory, Va. Coach Ledford received her Bachelors Degree in Business Administration from James Madison University in Harrisonburg, Va., where she served as a Varsity Volleyball captain. Additionally, she is very active in the community, participating in church groups and directing volleyball camps.
Ashley Shade was elevated to position of Varsity Volleyball Coach at Ravenscroft in 2017. She has six years of coaching experience and ten years of playing experience. Ashley graduated from North Carolina Central University with a Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education and a concentration in Exercise and Sports Science with honors. In her collegiate career as a Division I athlete, she was named to the All Rookie Team. Ashley helped lead her team to earn back to back Conference Championships as a setter/right side and is second in the record book for all-time assists. She works as a Personal Trainer at O2 Fitness Seaboard. In the off-season she coaches at Chapel Hill Area Volleyball Club and enjoy spending time with her family.
