Math Puzzle Fun

Program Description: Join us in this camp if you love challenging yourself with math puzzles and brain teasers! You'll also learn strategies for tackling puzzles and tough word problems. Each day, we will play math games, solve logic puzzles, explore patterns, practice the problems seen in math contests, discuss our strategies and record our victories in our own math journals. Campers will leave this program with strengthened math skills and more confidence to take on tough problems and brain teasers in the future!
What to Bring: A daily snack.
Instructor: Shayla Thomas earned her BA in Mathematics from Agnes Scott College in Decatur, GA and her PhD in Educational Research and Policy Analysis from North Carolina State University. She has worked for 9 years as a math teacher and for almost 20 years as a tutor for middle and high school students. She enjoys helping students who find math challenging, and she loves to help students with strategies for solving puzzles, brain teasers, and word problems. She strives to create an environment where all students feel like they can be successful!
