Program Description: Have fun exploring colors, shapes, letters and numbers while stretching your imagination through art! With a theme-based approach and a focus on learning, this program will guide students in drawing, painting or sculpting a new project each day. A variety of different mediums will be used- pencils, chalk, watercolors, clay, acrylic paints and more. Examples of projects include self-portraits and fingerprint study, clay pinch pots, habitats and animal masks and picture book creations.
Instructor: Morgen Bengel is a state-certified K-5 instructor with a reading specialist certificate. She taught first grade at Irwin Elementary Magnet School in Charlotte, and prior to that was a first grade teacher at Thorson Elementary School in Cedarburg, Wisconsin. Morgen is a summa cum laude graduate of Indiana University, where she received a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education and was the recipient of the Class of 2014 Distinguished Future Educator Award.
