Time: 9:00 am - 12:00 pm
Ages: Rising Pre K-1st Grade
Location: Holding Hall Lower School, Room #107
Program Description: In this fun, hands-on camp week, our young campers will discover how, why and where things grow, how weather affects our gardens and the basic science of seeds by dissecting soil and its' components. They will also get acquainted with the many "creepy crawly" inhabitants of the garden and how those insects help make gardens so beautiful! Campers will explore the life of a caterpillar and discover how turns into a beautiful butterfly. They'll also finish the week with a journal that helps them keep track of everything they unearthed during this playful and educational week!
Instructor: The mission of Mad Science of Raleigh, Durham and Chapel Hill is to spark the imagination and curiosity of children through fun, hands-on science programs that instill a clear understanding of what science is really about and how it affects the world around them.
Mad Science makes learning fun! Children will learn how to explore, question and test their theories. Through unique experiments and dazzling demonstrations we hope to inspire young people to explore the world around them, and possibly pursue careers in technology, science or engineering.
