For the fourth year in a row, Ravenscroft's student-led fundraising team for Crucial Catch has been recognized as the top fundraising school in the nation, exceeding their goal of $30,000 by more than $6,000, and once again winning the prestigious Pink Cleat Award.
Young Writers-Creative Writing Camp

Program Description: The week of camp will include: Various creative writing exercises and games. Daily workshops of creative writing topics like characterization, setting, imagery, and dialogue with exercises to enhance our discussions. Time outside for socialization, recreation, and individual writing. One-on-one conferences between writers and writing coach, sharing of, and feedback about creative work. Reading of the young writers’ work for parents and friends
Instructor: Renee Pitchford joined the Ravenscroft community in 2022 as a Middle School Language Arts Instructor. She has been a Language Arts teacher for 20 years in Atlanta and most recently in Seaside, Florida. She has run summer camps for years and loves engaging students with fun camp themes and activities. She graduated from Mississippi College with a M.A. in Secondary Education and has completed the Gifted Education Confratute program at the University of Connecticut. She holds a B.A. in Educational Psychology from the University of Southern Mississippi. With a background in Gifted Education, Ms. Pitchford is excited to help foster a love of literacy and writing using innovative, engaging, creative instruction. Apart from teaching, she enjoys traveling, reading,community service, and getting outside with her doodles Ollie and Archie.
