For the fourth year in a row, Ravenscroft's student-led fundraising team for Crucial Catch has been recognized as the top fundraising school in the nation, exceeding their goal of $30,000 by more than $6,000, and once again winning the prestigious Pink Cleat Award.
Pitching Camp
Date: June 17-18, 2023 (Two Day Camp)

Program Description: This is a 2 day intensive camp with instruction focused on the skills of pitching. There will be a focus on the foundation of a pitcher's delivery from both the stretch and wind up positions. Additionally, drills to teach proper technique; especially footwork, grips and adjustments, fielding the position and the mental approach to the game will be a prominent part of the curriculum. Video analysis will be used daily to give feedback to the pitcher.
What to Bring: Baseball Glove, Spikes, Sneakers, Water Bottle, and comfortable workout clothes marked with the camper's name.
Instructor: Jim Gibbons joined Ravenscroft in 2008 as an Assistant Athletic Director-Technical Services. His duties include: head coach of the varsity baseball team, and offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach of the varsity football team. His physical education responsibilities include teaching an Upper School Fitness Education class, and administering Lower School Presidential Fitness testing for the fifth grade. Prior to coming to Ravenscroft, Coach Gibbons spent five years teaching and coaching at the Westminster Schools (Atlanta, Ga.) and 13 years as a college football coach at various levels. In 2012, Coach Gibbons completed the process to claim the title of "Certified Athletic Administrator" from the National Interscholastic Athletic Administration Association.
