Football Flight Camp

Dates: July 21 - 23, 2020 (Three Day Camp)

Program Description: Legendary Ravenscroft Head Football Coach, Ned Gonet, will apply his 30+ years of coaching experience and success to provide a camp designed to focus on the development of Quarterbacks and Wide Receivers. Coach Gonet and his staff of local college and high school players will stress proper fundamentals and build skills specific to each position by breaking them down for individual improvement and enhancement for every camper. Examples of topics covered are mechanics, stance, footwork, pre-snap reads, play-action fakes, rollouts and many others for Quarterbacks. Wide Receivers will be tutored in their stance and takeoff, release off the line, blocking schemes, reading defenses, passing trees, combo routes, and speed.

*How to secure an efficient release from the line of scrimmage vs press

*How to "stem" an off man defender to help you get open

*How to "stack" a defender that is trailing you in man under

*How to run "step" routes vs soft zone coverages

*Learning how to "sit in zones" and "run away from man" coverages

*Understanding when to adjust your routes vs various zone coverages

*How and when to signal the QB when you are in an "uncovered" situation

*Drill to help you secure the football in a "bang/bang" catch situation


Ned Gonet played football and baseball at Duke University and has been the Athletic Director and Head Football Coach at Ravenscroft for over 30 years. His teams have produced numerous Conference, State Championships, college and professional players. His Ravens won the 2015 NCISAA Division II State Title.
