Program Description: It's a piece of cake! Delicious baked goods require a recipe, and a while the first batch might not be perfect, through refining the recipe and experimentation, bakers eventually produce a dessert of which they can be proud. Campers will devise a different recipe, an algorithm, to solve a series of creative conundrums. Through a series of design thinking exercises campers will create a wearable tech, navigate mazes, and create a robot obstacle course. No coding experience necessary! Both camps will focus on different projects, so campers do not have to attend the first session in order to attend the second session.

What to Bring:  Campers should bring a water bottle.

Instructor: Anna Lawrence joined the Ravenscroft faculty as an U/S Computer Science instructor in 2018, she is a true computer science unicorn! She has experience as both an IT consultant and a full-time CS faculty member. Her educational philosophy focuses on design as play, harnessing students' passions to foster curiosity, and cultivating a classroom where each student feels valued and understood. She designs innovative, project based curriculums that empower students from diverse backgrounds to discover the beauty and utility of computer science.
