Camp Ravens Nest
Now in its 39th year at Ravenscroft, Camp Ravens Nest offers children in rising Kindergarten through 6th grade a meaningful, fun-filled, and safe summertime experience. Combining both a break from school routine with an opportunity to explore additional educational experiences, campers participate in a relaxed, yet closely supervised setting. All campers are served lunch in their separate classrooms, have morning and afternoon snacks and have daily rest time.
The program of activities builds on enhancements of the past several years; offering exposure to the arts through music, drama, art, and literature; crafts through activities in various media, building, and cooking; and physical activities through daily recreation, free play, and swimming. The varied schedule includes weekly themes, "special days", projects, and field trips, all of which are designed to develop the child's skills, self-confidence and to broaden his or her horizons... plus have fun!
In an effort to inhere to our successful protocols and the safety of our campers, Ravenscroft will no longer allow concurrent registrations. The idea of mixing groups during the camp day creates an unsafe environment for all of our campers. Please keep this in mind while creating your camp day.

Camp Ravens Nest is located in the Lower School 5th Grade Center. Campers will be divided into 3 groups; rising Kindergarten - first grades (Group A), rising second - third grades (Group B), and rising fourth - sixth grades (Group C).
Most campers arrive between 7:00 and 8:00 am and will meet in a common area, with groups separating after 8:00 am. Parents are to sign-in upon arrival, sign-out upon departure and touch base with a staff member on a daily basis. The groups combine for swimming in the on campus A. E. Finley Athletic Center pool and for lunch in the Dining Hall. Camp Ravens Nest will also use the Lower School computers, playgrounds and gymnasium.
The Camp Ravens Nest directors, Whitneye McCoy and Leana Stewart, have extensive experience working with children in a variety of environments. Whitneye has been promoted to the Summer Programs and After school Programs Coordinator position while Leana is a recently retired Ravenscroft Lower School Language Instructor.
The camp provides a minimum of one qualified staff member for every 12 children and supervision of groups will be by at least two qualified staff members at all times. The staff includes certified teachers, teacher assistants and student volunteers. All staff members are hired based on their strong desire to make a difference in each child's summer experience. In addition, Mr. Sandy Kapatos, Summer Programs Director, provides general program oversight.
PLEASE NOTE: The School requires that students be dropped off at Camp RavensNest no earlier than 7:00 am and picked up no later than 6:00 pm. A late fee of $1.00 per minute will be assessed for any child picked up after 6:00 pm.
