For the fourth year in a row, Ravenscroft's student-led fundraising team for Crucial Catch has been recognized as the top fundraising school in the nation, exceeding their goal of $30,000 by more than $6,000, and once again winning the prestigious Pink Cleat Award.

Program Description: This camp is geared towards girls and boys between the ages of 8 and 17 who have played little or no tennis. Campers will be introduced to the basic strokes and rules and etiquette of tennis. Each day will include a fun warm-up activity, stretching, and instruction and/or review of different tennis strokes. Drills and small and large group games will allow students to learn and practice their new skills in a fun and challenging way. On rainy days, the camp goes inside the gym and various indoor games/activities take place that allow students to develop racket-handling and footwork skills.
What to Bring: Campers will need to bring a tennis racket, water, small towel, and a light snack.
Instructor: Debbie Peek is a certified professional tennis instructor who has been teaching private and group tennis lessons in the Triangle area for many years. She is currently the Head Coach of the Varsity Tennis teams at Ravenscroft. Her background includes developing and running tennis camps for all ages and levels with emphasis on the fundamentals of tennis. Her professional tennis certification was achieved through the Professional Tennis Registry, the worlds largest international tennis teaching organization. She has also successfully completed training through the USTA that focuses on new and innovative teaching techniques for children and adults at the beginning and intermediate levels.
