Adventure Fishing Camp
Program Partner: NC Outside
Dates: July 15-19, 2019
Time: 8:30 am - 4:30 pm
Age: Rising 4th-9th Grades
Location: Gonet Gateway (For Drop Off and Pick Up daily, campers will then be bussed to that day's fishing location)
Program Description: Join NC Outside for a week of fishing adventure. Campers will learn the entire process of fishing; from rigging rods, to tying knots, and baiting hooks, all while exploring the great wealth of fishing opportunities the area has to offer.
Each day campers will head to a different location, ranging from private ponds, local reservoirs, and to area rivers like the Neuse and the Eno. Campers will have the opportunity to fish from inflatable kayaks on several of the days.
Safety is our number one priority! All campers will wear life jackets when in the water or on a boat. We maintain a 1-to-5 counselor to camper ratio to ensure that every camper gets some one-on-one time each day to advance his/her skills.
What to Bring: A lunch/snack(s). NC Outside will provide all bait and tackle, rods and reels, and life jackets.
Instructor: Tee Clarkson has been running fishing camps and youth outdoor programs for thirteen summers as the owner and director of Virginia Outside and Paddle Fish. After teaching High School English for more than a decade, Clarkson left the classroom several years ago to pursue his passion for running youth outdoor programs, as well as, working in land conservation and outdoor writing. Running programs in North Carolina was the next logical step, Clarkson and his staff are excited to launch their new sister outdoor adventure outfit, NC Outside in the summer of 2018.
