For the fourth year in a row, Ravenscroft's student-led fundraising team for Crucial Catch has been recognized as the top fundraising school in the nation, exceeding their goal of $30,000 by more than $6,000, and once again winning the prestigious Pink Cleat Award.

Program Description: Kids will get excited about science with edible experiments. This hands-on class will encourage kids to get involved in food-related experiments that they can literally sink their teeth into. Easy to follow instructions ensure educational and edible – results!
Instructors: Christi Verecky and Martha Anderson have been friends for over 20 years. They started as colleagues at Olive Chapel Elementary and soon became friends too. They both graduated from Meredith College with teaching certifications and later added Master's of Education with a reading concentration. They have presented at the NC Reading Conference and at the NCties Conference several times. Christi currently teaches 2nd grade at Ravenscroft and just finished her 34th year of teaching. Martha is a retired educator after 34 years of teaching K-2 and K-2 literacy intervention.
They both love long walks on the beach, dogs, reading, the Carolina Hurricanes, and time with their families.
