Program Description: Get ready to dig, plant, and grow! This hands-on gardening adventure is perfect for pre-K through 2nd grade students who love getting their hands a little dirty. Each week, kids will explore seeds, fruits, and vegetables while planting something new. Most weeks, campers will take their plants home to water, care for, and watch grow big and strong. During two extra-special weeks, they’ll work together in the school butterfly garden, planting flowers that help welcome butterflies and other pollinators. Together, we’ll grow curiosity, confidence, and a love for nature one sprout at a time.

Program Description: Calling All Disney Fans! 
Come sing, dance, craft, and play your way through a magical weekly Disney experience! Each week, we’ll step into the world of a different Disney favorite with fun crafts, songs, and movement games inspired by beloved characters.

Each session includes:
 A Disney-themed craft
 Music, movement, and instrument playing to Disney songs
 A fun, interactive Disney game

Each Wednesday will feature a new Disney adventure:

 Theme #1 – Finding Nemo: Under the Sea Adventure

Dive deep beneath the waves with Nemo and Dory! Craft your own colorful ocean creatures, dance with bubbles, and play underwater movement games in this splashy sea adventure!

 Theme #2 – Cinderella: A Dream Is a Wish

Step into Cinderella’s magical world where dreams really do come true! Decorate your own royal wand, design a paper “glass slipper,” and get ready to twirl at the Royal Ball. Dance to songs from Cinderella like “A Dream Is a Wish Your Heart Makes,” practice graceful “midnight freeze” movement games, and parade through the room like true royalty before the clock strikes twelve!

 Theme #3 – Aladdin: Magic Carpet Ride

Soar into a world of wonder! Decorate your own magic carpet, move to “A Whole New World,” and play silly “Genie Says” games that bring Agrabah to life.

 Theme #4 – Peter Pan: Neverland Adventure

Fly off to Neverland with Peter, Wendy, and the Lost Boys! Craft your own Tinker Bell Pixie Dust Bottles and decorate your own eye patch or treasure map.  After we will dance to Peter Pan songs, and play “Follow the Leader” flying games to explore the magical island. Be ready for an adventure full of imagination and fun!

 Theme #5 – Lilo & Stitch: Ohana Adventure

Celebrate the power of friendship and family (“Ohana”) with a tropical twist! Design your own surfboard craft, hula dance to “Hawaiian Roller Coaster Ride,” and balance like a surfer in our Surf’s Up Challenge.

 Theme #6 – Royal Celebration: Princesses & Princes

Step into the castle for a royal finale! Create crowns and capes, parade to your favorite Disney songs, and dance at the Royal Ball with your fellow princes and princesses!

Program Description: Let's sell lemonade! Young campers become "lemonade entrepreneurs" and learn how to make yummy lemonade and earn money selling it! From designing marketing flyers to estimating profits to experimenting with recipes, campers have fun all week while developing business savvy.

Program Description: Our Raven Sprouts Cheer Afterschool program is a fun introduction to cheerleading designed especially for Pre-K students.

Led by the JV Cheerleaders, campers will:

• Build Confidence & Team Spirit – cheer together, make new friends, and show off their school pride
• Dance, Games & Movement – music, rhythm, and fun activities to keep everyone moving
• Cheer Craft Time –  to show Raven pride
• 🖤 Final Performance – showcase their new skills for family and friends at the end of camp

This camp is all about fun, confidence, and school spirit! Every Raven Sprout will leave with a Raven Sprouts T-shirt and cheer bow and poms to celebrate their participation.

Program Description: Step into a world of Disney Magic, Labubu friends, K-Pop music and sensory delight!  The Mix & Move Club is a high-energy, relaxed hangout designed for 1st - 3rd graders to unwind after school while exploring their favorite things.

What We Do:

• 👾 Labubu Lounge: Students are invited to bring one small Stuffie  or "Labubu" from home each week to share with friends during our snack time!! (Snack provided) Only water bottle needed unless your child has allergies - please alert me and send them with their own.
• 🕺 Music & Movement: We turn up the volume with Disney favorites and K-Pop hits for "Freeze Dance", rhythmic play, dancing and sing-alongs.
• ✨ Sensory Play: Each week we explore "Magic Mixes" like pre-made glitter slimes, kinetic sand, soap paint and colorful clay.

• Why it’s a win: It’s 75 minutes of social connection, fine motor/ messy sensory play they crave, physical movement with song and dance that they love!

Program Description: Raven Wings is the next step from our Raven Sprouts, designed for Kindergarten and first grade students who are ready to build confidence, coordination, and teamwork. Through structured movement games, basic skill development, and group activities, students will strengthen body control, rhythm, focus, and expressive performance skills while learning how to work together as a team. With an emphasis on effort, participation, and growing independence, Raven Wings provides a positive and supportive environment where campers can continue to grow while having fun.

Each day is packed with hands-on activities, energetic games, and chances to explore the magic of Pokémon in creative new ways. Students create awesome Pokémon-themed crafts, learn to play the Pokémon Trading Card Game, dance and move to iconic Pokémon music, dress up as their favorite Pokémon/trainer, discover Pokémon history, lore, and fun facts, play Who’s That Pokémon, watch iconic clips of the show, join exciting Pokémon scavenger hunts and most importantly, have the best time with fellow Pokémon lovers!

Program Description: Girls Who Code is a fun, welcoming club where girls explore coding, robotics, and creative problem-solving through games, storytelling, crafts, and hands-on projects. Inspired by the national Girls Who Code mission, this club helps girls build confidence, curiosity, and a strong sense of belonging in technology. No prior coding experience is needed—just curiosity and imagination! Our goal is to show girls that coding is creative, mistakes are part of learning, and they belong in tech. In each session, girls will learn to code through play using age-appropriate tools such as Scratch Jr., Code.org, and simple robotics platforms like Spheros. Program Description: In this ever popular program, all sessions will be a general lesson based on each participant's individual needs. Each participant will receive individualized instruction within the group setting. All sessions will focus on improving stroke technique and all strokes will be covered throughout the 4-day session. There will be some group activities but everything in the program will focus on individual improvement.

*Please Note: Participating Students will be escorted from the L/S to the Finley Center Pool at the conclusion of the school day. Coach Warren and his staff will help them change, if necessary. Parents can come to watch the sessions if they would like to. 

Students that are not picked up from the pool deck will be escorted back to the L/S (back carpool lot) and can be picked up there at 4:15 pm

Instructor: Greg Warren has been the Aquatics Director and Head Coach of the boys and girls swim team since 2005. In that time, Coach Warren has been a part of 6 State Championship winning teams. Before coming to Ravenscroft, he swam for UNC-Wilmington and was a nationally ranked age group swimmer while in High School. He has over 30 years experience teaching swimming skills in both the private and group settings. He is an instructor for the American Red Cross and certifies the Ravenscroft Facility, Staff and Coaches in CPR and AED. Coach Warren also teaches swimming in both the lower and middle schools and also teaches a lifeguard training elective in the upper school. 

Program Description: Chess is a great way for Ravenscroft students to increase their mental agility, concentration, memory, and analytical skills! We are excited to partner with Dragon Knight Chess again in 2024 to provide the opportunity for Lower and Middle School students to participate in this session of the Ravenscroft Chess Academy!  

In this program, students will learn chess fundamentals and strategies that enhance learning skills and critical thinking. Novice students and experienced players are encouraged to sign up, as we will have two levels of instruction and available experiences for both groups. We will register all students in one session and then divide them based on their experience level.

Dragon Knight Chess is dedicated to promoting scholastic chess instruction for all young people. Whether you just want to improve your chess knowledge to play with friends or are a serious tournament player, we can help advance your chess skills!

Program Description: Summer Swim Team Prep Program is designed to help young swimmers build confidence, refine technique, and improve endurance before the competitive season begins. Through focused drills, stroke development, starts-and-turns practice, and fun conditioning sets, athletes will strengthen their skills in a supportive, high-energy environment. Perfect for swimmers preparing to join or return to a summer swim team! What to Bring: Swimsuit and Towel, Goggles are optional, all other equipment will be provided.

Program Requirement: Swimmers must be able to comfortably swim one full lap (50 yards) independently to participate.
If your swimmer needs general swim instruction or is not yet able to complete a full lap, please enroll in the After-School Swim Lesson Program instead.

This after-school art class is a creative celebration where students will work with clay and paint on canvas—just like a fun, kid-friendly sip-and-paint party. Artists will sculpt with real kiln-fired clay and create colorful paintings while being guided step-by-step, with lots of freedom to add their own ideas and style. Projects are designed to be fun, engaging, and flexible for all skill levels. All art supplies are included, and students will take home their one-of-a-kind masterpieces as they’re completed—perfect for sharing with family and showing off their creativity!

Program Description: Join the Toon Titans! Cartooning and Sketching Club with Mr. Carlson, your guide to turning doodles into masterpieces! Get ready to create drawings of your favorite characters like a pro! Students in grades 2–5 will learn to sketch Disney Heroes, Star Wars Legends, Magical Wizards, and Super Mario adventurers. Every day, we’ll unlock artistic secrets through step-by-step instructions. You'll learn the cartoonist's tricks: how to use basic shapes (the building blocks!), how to master proportions (so your characters look perfect!), and how to use shading (to make your drawings POP!). Beginners will go from zero to hero and improve from day one, while experienced artists will level up their techniques and develop their own creative flair. You'll discover how to draw expressive faces and tell amazing stories with just a pencil! It’s the ultimate chance to boost your confidence and unleash your creativity through the magic of cartooning!

Program Description: Brian Morgan, Women's Head Coach at Cardinal Gibbons, brings Coerver soccer skills training to Ravenscroft. With a 40 year history and endorsements from Manchester United, Real Madrid, Liverpool FC and other top clubs, Coerver Coaching has been the global leader in soccer player development producing confident, creative players. 

Coerver training focuses on building player confidence through mastering footwork and playing with creativity under pressure. All in an engaging, fittingly competitive environment. Training will take place after school and will be age appropriate with a maximum 1:12 coach to player ratio.

PERFORMANCE ACADEMY is Coerver® Coaching’s in-depth player development program. This class is for players aged 8-11 and is based on the five S's of the Coerver® Code: Skill, Speed, Sense, Strength, & Spirit. The program is taught by Coach Morgan and experienced Coerver® staff coaches, who customize skill development to meet the needs of each individual player. The Performance Academy level will focus on the “Core” technical skills, meaning that each training day is focused around one of our 4 core Coerver® move sets. In addition to the move sets, each player will train in ball mastery, dribbling with control and speed, ball striking, finishing, and passing & receiving.

Program Description: The "Spring into Art" Club offers a warm and inviting space where 3rd through 5th graders can explore and celebrate the beautiful changing seasons through a variety of artistic activities. Throughout the program, students will enjoy working with traditional canvas painting and colorful tissue-paper collages, and they will also try their hand at tactile 3D projects and clay sculpting. These activities help them discover different textures and shapes while building their artistic skills and confidence in a friendly, collaborative setting. The club will culminate in a Spring Art Showcase, a joyful event where students can share their creations proudly with family, friends, and the entire school community.

Program Description:Little Ravens Science Club is an 6-week, hands-on science adventure inspired by the curiosity and fun of Sid the Science Kid! Designed for our Pre-K -2nd grade students , this club sparks early STEM thinking through simple, playful experiments. Each weekly 1-hour session features an exciting theme—like color mixing, air power, or melting magic, —and includes a Sid-style “Question of the Day,” a guided experiment, creative drawing or journaling, and a share circle. Designed just for young learners, the club helps children practice observing, predicting, comparing, communicating, and working together while joyfully discovering how the world works—just like Sid!

Program Description: Calling all Swiftes! Do you love Taylor Swift and her music? Then this experience is for you! Get ready to make friendship bracelets,  decorate your own guitar, and other Swift inspired crafts. We will get ready for the stage with practicing our stage presence and choreographing our own Taylor Swift songs! Don't forget singing!  We will have a blast singing all our favorite Taylor Swift songs! Your child will be ready to set the stage after this experience!

Program Description: Get ready to power up for fun at the Nintendo Nook! This exciting program is a perfect place for students to explore the vibrant, creative, and expansive worlds of Nintendo. The Nintendo Nook is designed to foster creativity, critical thinking, and movement inspired by the games we love. Join us in our artistic endeavors, movement activities, teamwork, storytelling & role-play! We're going beyond the screen to bring beloved franchises like Mario, Pokémon, Animal Crossing, and Kirby to life. We'll participate in DIY obstacle courses for a Mario Kart race, map building, scavenger hunting, character skits, game soundtrack exploration and more. Whether your child is a seasoned gamer or new to the world of Nintendo, they will discover ways to learn, play, and connect with their peers here. Program Description: Ignite your child’s curiosity with an exciting introduction to computer science! In this hands-on camp, students learn foundational programming skills such as sequencing, loops, debugging, events, and creative coding while designing simple games, animations, and interactive stories.

Students will work with block-based coding, an age-friendly visual programming style used in Code.org and Scratch. They’ll also be able to view the text-based version of their code, giving them early exposure to real programming languages and helping them understand how their blocks translate into true code concepts.

Each day blends playful challenges with real coding tools, helping students build confidence, creativity, and strong problem-solving skills—all in a fun, supportive environment.

Program Description: Calling all Pre-Kindergarten-5th Grade art enthusiasts! Step behind the velvet ropes and into the exclusive world of art curation by joining Guardians of the Gallery! Facilitated by Mrs. Callaghan, Mrs. Karpowitz, and Middle/Upper School members of the Morton Committee, this program transforms students into courageous curators. Participants will work alongside older artists to learn the secrets of staging an art show and creating their own mini-collection. Guardians will also take a special tour to explore the hidden treasures of our school's private Hugh Morton, Jr. Art Collection. The experience culminates with students putting their new skills into action by planning and curating a part of the official Lower School Art Exhibition in March. 

Key Information: 
- What to bring: a snack and water bottle, comfy shoes, clothes that can get paint on them
- Pick-up: We will be in the Lower School Fine Arts Building. Come to parking lot E and park. Walk around the back of the building and you’ll find us in Mrs. Callaghan’s room. Look for the open door decorated with koi fish—that's us! If your kiddo participates in Extended Day, we will make sure they make it there afterward!

Instructors & Program Purpose: 
Your guides on this artistic adventure are experienced Ravenscroft instructors Mrs. Karpowitz (3rd-5th grades), and Mrs. Callaghan (PK-2nd grades). They will be joined by the Morton Committee facilitators, a select group of students from grades 6-12 who collaborate throughout the year to select pieces to add to The Hugh Morton, Jr. Art Collection. 

The Hugh Morton, Jr. Art Collection is a vital asset enriching the lives of students, families, and faculty in our community. The individual pieces serve as valuable teaching tools to explain different techniques and styles of art. The ultimate hope of the Guardians of the Gallery program is to begin early to cultivate a long-term commitment to our community's arts culture.

Program Description: Hello, fairy and dragon gardening enthusiast! 

Get ready for a magical 6-day session of Fairy Dragon Garden Creations. We will create our very own enchanted fairy/dragon garden. Each day, we will immerse ourselves in a world of imagination, using art and garden supplies to bring their magical vision to life. 

What to look forward to! 

• Daily Scavenger hunts: We'll embark on exciting quests to find fairies and other fantastical creatures to add to our gardens. 

• Magical Creations: We will craft unique items to enhance their garden, which may include dragon eggs, flower crowns, toadstools, and fairy garden homes. 

At the end of the 6-day session, every participant will take home the magnificent, tiny enchanted garden they worked so hard to create! Plus, as a grand finale on the final two days, they can truly complete their magical look with sparkling fairy hair (parental permission required).

Program Description: Chess is a great way for Ravenscroft students to increase their mental agility, concentration, memory, and analytical skills! We are excited to partner with Dragon Knight Chess again in 2024 to provide the opportunity for Lower and Middle School students to participate in this session of the Ravenscroft Chess Academy!  

In this program, students will learn chess fundamentals and strategies that enhance learning skills and critical thinking. Novice students and experienced players are encouraged to sign up, as we will have two levels of instruction and available experiences for both groups. We will register all students in one session and then divide them based on their experience level.

Program Description: Pokémon Trainer Academy is a space where students can learn how to play the Pokémon Trading Card Game (TCG), participate in friendly in-club tournaments, and trade cards with fellow friends. Club members will also get the chance to watch real-life TCG matches and learn from the pros. Playing Pokémon helps build critical thinking, literacy, math, and social skills in a fun and engaging way. It helps students develop skills such as good sportsmanship, turn-taking, and patience. It encourages clear communication as they practice negotiation and learn how to compromise. The game also fosters conflict resolution skills when disagreements arise, and builds teamwork as players support each other and share strategies. To get the most out of the experience, members must bring their own Pokémon cards!

Program Description: Join us for the Ravenscroft Varsity Cheerleading Clinic, open to all K-2nd grade students! From December 2-5, participants will stay after school Tuesday through Friday from 3:00–4:15 p.m. to learn cheers, dances, stunts and game-day traditions alongside the Varsity Cheerleaders. The week will conclude with a special Game Day experience on Friday, December 5th beginning with a pizza party at 3:00 p.m. with the Varsity Cheerleaders, followed by cheering the first half of the girls basketball game.

Each participant will receive a custom Varsity Cheerleader shirt, cheer bow, pizza party, and the unforgettable experience of being part of the Ravens’ game-day spirit.

Program Description: In this ever popular program, all sessions will be a general lesson based on each participant's individual needs. Each participant will receive individualized instruction within the group setting. All sessions will focus on improving stroke technique and all strokes will be covered throughout the 4-day session. There will be some group activities but everything in the program will focus on individual improvement.

*Please Note: Participating Students will be escorted from the L/S to the Finley Center Pool at the conclusion of the school day. Coach Warren and his staff will help them change, if necessary. Parents can come to watch the sessions if they would like to. 

Students that are not picked up from the pool deck will be escorted back to the L/S (back carpool lot) and can be picked up there at 4:15 pm

Instructor: Greg Warren has been the Aquatics Director and Head Coach of the boys and girls swim team since 2005. In that time, Coach Warren has been a part of 6 State Championship winning teams. Before coming to Ravenscroft, he swam for UNC-Wilmington and was a nationally ranked age group swimmer while in High School. He has over 30 years experience teaching swimming skills in both the private and group settings. He is an instructor for the American Red Cross and certifies the Ravenscroft Facility, Staff and Coaches in CPR and AED. Coach Warren also teaches swimming in both the lower and middle schools and also teaches a lifeguard training elective in the upper school. 

Program Description: Looking for a calm and creative space after school? Join Ms. Higginson for Mindful Moments Club! Each week begins with a simple mindfulness activity, followed by student choice time with options like coloring, crafts, puzzles, reading, and outdoor play. This screen-free club encourages relaxation, creativity, and kindness in a peaceful environment. We end each session with a quiet reflection or calming breath—leaving students refreshed and ready for the next day.

Program Description: Brian Morgan, Women's Head Coach at Cardinal Gibbons, brings Coerver soccer skills training to Ravenscroft. With a 40 year history and endorsements from Manchester United, Real Madrid, Liverpool FC and other top clubs, Coerver Coaching has been the global leader in soccer player development producing confident, creative players. 

Coerver training focuses on building player confidence through mastering footwork and playing with creativity under pressure. All in an engaging, fittingly competitive environment. Training will take place after school and will be age appropriate with a maximum 1:12 coach to player ratio.

PERFORMANCE ACADEMY is Coerver® Coaching’s in-depth player development program. This class is for players aged 8-11 and is based on the five S's of the Coerver® Code: Skill, Speed, Sense, Strength, & Spirit. The program is taught by Coach Morgan and experienced Coerver® staff coaches, who customize skill development to meet the needs of each individual player. The Performance Academy level will focus on the “Core” technical skills, meaning that each training day is focused around one of our 4 core Coerver® move sets. In addition to the move sets, each player will train in ball mastery, dribbling with control and speed, ball striking, finishing, and passing & receiving.

Program Description: Sound Lab: Build Your Own Musical Creations! Where science meets sound, and YOU make the music! Get ready to experiment, invent, and make some noise! In this exciting 6-week adventure, we’ll explore the science of sound—how it moves, how it’s made, and why it makes us want to dance! Each week, we’ll roll up our sleeves and build our own instruments inspired by the four instrument families: strings, woodwinds, brass, and percussion. We’ll use everyday materials (and even some real wood!) to craft simple, creative instruments—each one designed around how sound works. Along the way, we’ll run cool experiments and uncover the secrets of acoustics.

By the end, you’ll have your very own mini band—designed and built by YOU!
