Parent Engagement at Ravenscroft

The Parents’ Association builds community through engagement and volunteerism in order to create a sense of belonging and inclusion for all families, faculty, staff and students. As an organization, the PA plans and coordinates community-wide events (including Fall Festival, Spring Community event, Book Fair, Online Auction, Faculty/Staff Appreciation and more), provides volunteer time and talent, and offers philanthropic support that benefits Ravenscroft’s programmatic excellence, facilities enhancements and school spirit. The PA holds general meetings monthly, often inviting guest speakers to share insights and information about aspects of school life.

The Ravenscroft Athletic Club is an organization of parents from the Ravenscroft community whose purpose is to support all aspects of athletics at Ravenscroft through the promotion of school spirit, good sportsmanship and volunteer commitment. RAC volunteers are responsible for managing and staffing sports concessions sales; supporting our athletes, teams and  tournaments on campus; and planning the Annual Ravenscroft Golf Classic. RAC meets monthly to identify and plan for athletic events throughout the year and plan the Ravenscroft Golf Classic in the fall.

Recognizing that Fine Arts are an essential element in the development of a well-rounded Ravenscroft student, the purpose of the Fine Arts Association is to support the Fine Arts program at Ravenscroft and to help create a liaison between the Ravenscroft family and the Triangle arts community. FAA volunteers celebrate and support students involved in Fine Arts, assist with Fine Arts events such as plays and concerts, and produce the Ravenscroft Fine Arts Program booklet annually. The FAA meets monthly to hear updates from the Fine Arts Department and to identify and plan for upcoming Fine Arts events. All parents are welcome and encouraged to attend FAA meetings. The purpose of Global Parent Ambassadors is to foster, support and nurture community and relationships among international and all families at Ravenscroft. The GPA plans fun, inclusive social and educational experiences throughout the year to help our families learn more about the many cultures represented at Ravenscroft. The GPA holds meetings regularly throughout the school year.

Parents Supporting Diversity and Inclusion is committed to fostering an environment for Ravenscroft families to be able to understand and appreciate individual differences, ensuring that all individuals feel empowered, valued, supported and better prepared for a culturally diverse society. PSDI organizes parent/guardian and family social events, workshops, guest speakers and more! PSDI meets a minimum of four times per year to plan their event calendar.
