For the fourth year in a row, Ravenscroft's student-led fundraising team for Crucial Catch has been recognized as the top fundraising school in the nation, exceeding their goal of $30,000 by more than $6,000, and once again winning the prestigious Pink Cleat Award.
In 1996, Ravenscroft initiated the Visiting Artist Portfolio Series to continue to promote excellence in the visual arts. Sponsored by the Victor E. Bell III ’74 Endowment Fund, the Portfolio Series invites visiting professional artists and educators from distinguished colleges and universities and the professional art world to Ravenscroft each year.
Artists are selected based on their expertise in a given medium as it relates to our art curriculum. In recent years, the Portfolio Series included painters, printmakers, architects, sculptors and photographers from higher education programs at Dartmouth College, Swarthmore College, Tyler School of Art, Auburn University, Denison College, the University of Pennsylvania, University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and Drexel University as well as local renowned artists.
Two North Carolina-based artists, silkscreen printer Dominick Rapone and painter Kiki Farish, will exhibit their work and share their skills with visual arts students this year. Exhibitions are free and open to the community weekdays, 8 a.m.-4 p.m. in the Pugh Family Lobby of the Fine Arts Center. Access the full schedule of exhibitions for 2019-20 here.
