Three senior student-athletes have signed official National Letters of Intent to play collegiate athletics.

Grace Bergstrom '18 committed to Sacred Heart University (Fairfield, CT), where she will continue her swimming career. She has had a decorated swimming career as a member of four state team championships (2013, 2014, 2015, 2016). She has been a part of five state championship-winning relays, including last season's 400 women's freestyle relay that set a new state record. Bergstrom was also a contributor to six relay championship events at the TISAC Meet.

"Grace has been a valuable member of our team since she started in seventh grade," said Ravenscroft Director of Aquatics and swim team coach Greg Warren. "She has earned a varsity letter in each season and has qualified for the state championship meet in every individual event offered. She has specialized in the freestyle and individual medley events throughout her career. However, her ability to swim well in all four strokes has allowed her to compete in different events to maximize the team score for both regular season and championship meets. Grace has always been a team player, and I'm so proud and excited for her to be able to swim in college."

Quinn Riley '18 committed to Duke University, where he will add to the long Ravens history of golfers in the ACC. A five-time letterwinner, Riley has won numerous national tournaments, including the North Carolina Trusted Choice Big I Championship and the CGA 50th N.C. Junior Boys Championship. In 2016, Riley was recognized by the Transamerica Scholastic Honor Roll for his Top 10 finish and 4.5 GPA. Quinn was also named to The News & Observer 2017 All-Metro, 2017 NCISAA All-State and 2017 TISAC All-Conference after winning medalist honors in the TISAC Championship with a round of 67. Off the course, he is a National Honor Society member and a volunteer with Wake County Special Olympics, Habitat for Humanity and The First Tee.

Jimmy Cox, golf coach and chair of the Ravenscroft Physical Education Department, said, "Quinn is one of the best junior golfers in the state and the country. He helped lead us to the state championship last year and was all-state, all-conference, and won the individual conference championship while finishing third in the state behind two other D-1 commits. His outstanding play this summer in state and national tournaments put him high on the national radar. Duke is getting a great golfer and a super young man. "

Madison Taylor '18 committed to College of Charleston to continue her basketball career. Taylor, currently the all-time assist leader (282) and fourth in Ravenscroft history for all-time scoring (1316), is a two-time NCISAA All-State and TISAC Player of the Year. She has also earned all-tournament selections from the John Wall Invitational in 2016, Granville Christmas Tournament in 2014 and East Guilford Christmas in 2013. Taylor is a four-time letter-winner who also participated in volleyball and track and field. She is very active off the court, working with Ravens Sports Medicine, SPEAK, Nubian Queens and as a volunteer at her church.

"Madison has been a part of the Ravenscroft women's basketball program in both our Middle and Upper schools, joining the varsity team as an eighth grader," said Ravenscroft basketball co-head coach Alfie Hobbs. "She has received numerous accolades as a multiple all-conference player, conference player of the year, an all-state player, team most valuable player and a 1000-plus point scorer. Madison exemplifies the type of character and leadership that we like to see in our student-athletes. She is involved in many school activities outside of basketball, such as the student trainer program, and is a strong student advocate for diversity and inclusion. She has given a lot of time and dedication to the basketball program, and we are very excited as takes the next step in her basketball career. The College of Charleston is getting a great basketball player and a better young woman who will make a positive impact in whatever she does."
