For the fourth year in a row, Ravenscroft's student-led fundraising team for Crucial Catch has been recognized as the top fundraising school in the nation, exceeding their goal of $30,000 by more than $6,000, and once again winning the prestigious Pink Cleat Award.
Three Ravenscroft art students have been recognized for their submissions to the Fine Arts League of Cary Teen Show.
Six Middle School students took the global Pegasus Mythology Exam in March, with all winning awards for their performance.
The new courtyard sculpture, by Greensboro artist Jim Gallucci, has been installed and will be dedicated as part of the Middle School Art Exhibit opening on May 13.
The dedication begins at 12:45 p.m. in the courtyard, and continues to the Pugh Family Lobby of the Fine Arts Center.
Gallucci was commissioned to create a sculpture in the Hugh Morton, Jr. Courtyard with the theme of the Raven. He worked with steel to create one piece that shows ravens in flight and another, an outline of a flying raven, that is attached to the side of the building.
The two pieces are this year's addition to the Morton Collection and were chosen by a committee of students and faculty who traveled to the artist's studio to watch and participate in the creation of the artwork.
The sculpture dedication is open to the public.
