Ravens win gold for their “idea to reform the nursing home inspection system in North Carolina.” An idea, according to the official press release, that would potentially save taxpayers $14 million per year.
Seven Ravenscroft Lower School students have been recognized with honorable mentions for their submissions to a cover contest for the music curriculum magazine Music K-8.
The students' work is the result of a collaboration between music teacher Katie O'Neill and art teachers Kristen McCarthy and Amelia Karpowitz.
"Every year Music K-8, a national magazine, runs a contest for students to design the cover of the magazine," O'Neill explained. "This year our kindergarten through fifth-grade students participated, and some of them were awarded honors!"
Ravens receiving honorable mention are:
- Simran Burbage (kindergarten)
- Emma Farrell (first grade)
- Zayan Sandhu (first grade)
- Malek Bradley (first grade)
- Sophia Pereira (second grade)
- Clemence Mulatero (fourth grade)
- Andrew Nunalee (fourth grade)

"We are so proud of every Raven who participated in the contest. To have our very own students receive national honors is amazing," O'Neill added. "It was also fun to collaborate with my colleagues for this project!"
