School leadership and the fifth-grade team shared reflections and well-wishes for the Class of 2028 in a pre-recorded presentation shared with families on Friday, May 28.

Enjoy the video presentation in its entirety or read the event program. Time markers for each part of the presentation are included below.

Head of Lower School Nicole Girvan opened the presentation, remarking on the growth and character this class has shown in navigating the challenges of the year. “May you be empowered by all the possibilities that await you,” she added.

She then recognized these Lower School faculty members who have reached career longevity milestones and/or are retiring (2:02):

  • Jessalyn Michael, 10 years

  • Cynthia Lane, 20 years

  • Suzanne Carothers, 30 years, retiring

Next, four students — Ariana Kish, Evie Venters, Ricky Moore and William Hunter — shared reflections and stories (2:50), from moving to a new school to sharing special holiday moments with family. The fifth-grade teachers then recognized the students from their homerooms (12:49).

Head of School Doreen Kelly shared well-wishes on behalf of the entire Ravenscroft Leadership Team (16:10). “Whether you were learning from home or here on campus, you have shown us that you can do hard things really well,” she said. “We couldn’t be more proud of you and want to congratulate you again for completing Lower School.”

Next, incoming Head of Middle School Bernardo Guzmán — a familiar face to viewers, as the current Assistant Head of Lower School — welcomed students to the Middle School (17:00). “The Middle School is going to bring new challenges, but it’s going to be a lot of fun tackling them together,” he said to the rising sixth-graders. “Everything that’s new for you will be new for me, too. We’ll figure it out, and I can’t wait to get started!”

Girvan closed the presentation, thanking families for watching. Congratulations to all of these outstanding fifth-graders on their accomplishments!
