For the fourth year in a row, Ravenscroft's student-led fundraising team for Crucial Catch has been recognized as the top fundraising school in the nation, exceeding their goal of $30,000 by more than $6,000, and once again winning the prestigious Pink Cleat Award.
As students, faculty and staff settle in for another school year, they can thank the newly renamed Facilities Department for the comfortable conditions and noteworthy additions they find in each division.
Over the summer, the 12-member department completed a campus to-do list that included painting classrooms, offices and other spaces across campus; moving classroom and office furniture, including many items put in storage to accommodate physical distancing requirements last school year; installing new flooring; installing new and repairing existing AC units; and bus, road and landscape maintenance. They also installed a new roof on the Lower School’s Kindergarten and fifth-grade buildings.
Here are a few other projects they completed that are sure to excite and inspire Ravens across our campus:
-
Renovation of the Lower School computer room and offices to create the new Lower School Innovation Lab
-
Installation of new seating and umbrellas in the Middle School courtyard
-
Renovation in the Upper School hallway across from the cafe to create an alcove where students can work and study during their study hall periods
-
Construction of a porch and patio for the Head of School residence to accommodate official social and philanthropic events
-
Continued partnership with the design team and contractors in the work on the Olander Center for Student Life at the A.E. Finley Activity Center, set to open in early 2022
Thank you to Director of Facilities Chris Farrow and the entire team for all of your hard work!
