Two more Ravenscroft senior student-athletes have signed official National Letters of Intent to play collegiate athletics.
Chris Barnette '18 has committed to Mars Hill University in Mars Hill, North Carolina, where he will continue his basketball career. Chris, a four-time letter-winner, earned numerous honors as a senior. He was named to the NCISAA All-State and Raleigh News & Observer All-Metro teams and was recognized as the 2018 TISAC Player of the Year, 2018 Team Most Valuable Player and 2017 South Granville Holiday Tournament Most Outstanding Player.
"Chris is the perfect example of a young man who, through hard work and dedication, made himself into a college basketball player," Ravenscroft head basketball coach Kevin Billerman said. "For four years he represented himself, his family and Ravenscroft with great integrity and character."
Jack Hemphill '18 has signed to play basketball at Boston University. He is a two-time TISAC all-conference selection and two-time varsity athlete for Coach Kevin Billerman. He earned all-tournament honors at both the 2016 John Wall Holiday Invitational and the 2017 South Granville Holiday Tournament. Jack came to Ravenscroft after playing for two years at Broughton High School, where he was also a two-time letter-winner. He was an invitee and participant in the NBPA Top 100 Camp, an ESPN 3-star recruit and a member of the CP3 AAU program.
Coach Billerman said, "Jack worked hard to develop his skills to a Division 1 level. This past year he came into his own as he led our team in scoring and rebounding. He will continue to lead as a player at Boston University of the Patriot League. We expect great things from Jack in his collegiate career.
Congratulations to both Jack and Chris!
