Several students in Ravenscroft's visual arts classes were recognized for their submissions to the regional 2018 Scholastic Art Awards.
Work by students in eighth through 12th grades was submitted to this prestigious competition, which celebrates students' vision, ingenuity and talent and provides opportunities for public exhibitions and scholarships. Regional Gold and Silver Key recipients will have their work exhibited at the Scholastic Art Show at Barton College in Wilson, North Carolina, Jan. 28-Feb. 22. Gold Key winners advance to competition for the national awards, winners of which will have their work exhibited at Parsons School of Design in New York City.
"I'm very proud of all Ravenscroft students who had the courage to enter this competition. It takes resilience to be an artist," Julie Cardillo, who teachers Middle and Upper School visual arts, said. "Congratulations to the winners. It was well-deserved recognition!"
