On Nov. 5, Ravenscroft is partnering with Quail Ridge Books to bring Raleigh "Wimpy Kid Live: The Meltdown Show," an evening with author Jeff Kinney that promises "trademark Wimpy Kid humor, trivia, cartooning, zany audience participation opportunities and snowball fights" for fans young and old.
Kinney is on tour promoting "Diary of a Wimpy Kid #13: The Meltdown." After the one-hour show, guests may join Kinney for a meet-and-greet and photo opportunity. Admission is free with advance purchase of "The Meltdown." More details about the event, which is open to the public, are available on Quail Ridge Books' website.
Because our school is the host site, Ravenscroft students who purchase copies of the book using the Ravenscroft order form (sent home on Wednesday, Sept. 26) will receive a discount book price of $16 and free admission for an adult companion, as well as priority tickets for the meet-and-greet. Students should turn in their order form and payment to Winston Library or the Keim Center by Oct. 15. No late orders will be accepted.
The event takes place Monday, Nov. 5, in the Finley Center Main Arena. Doors open at 5 p.m. and the show starts at 6 p.m. Books and tickets purchased through Ravenscroft will be available at Will Call starting at 5 p.m. See Ravenscroft's event FAQs for more details.
Please note, tickets made available to the general public have already sold out and Quail Ridge is taking names for a wait-list. Ravenscroft students interested in attending the event are encouraged to turn in their order forms and payment promptly. Although Kinney will not be signing books at the event, additional signed copies of "The Meltdown" and other "Wimpy Kid" titles will be available for purchase on-site.
