Ravenscroft basketball standout Madison Taylor '18 has been selected for the 2018 North Carolina Private School All-Star Basketball Game, scheduled for Saturday, March 3, in Charlotte. The teams will feature some of the top senior boys and girls basketball players in North Carolina.
The 2018 Girls Private School All-Star team features more than ten top players who have already signed to play at the collegiate level. Shane Wilder, head coach at Neuse Christian Academy in Raleigh and 2017 NCISAA Coach of the Year, will coach the East team, which will include Madison. Matt McCarthy, coach at Wesleyan Christian Academy, will coach the West team.
The games will take place in Mosack Athletic Center on the campus of Providence Day School. The girls' game will start at 1 p.m., followed by the boys' game at 2:30 p.m. In addition to the game, players and coaches will participate in a community service project on Friday, March 2.
Madison is a two-time NCISAA All-State and TISAC Player of the Year and 2018 McDonald's All-American nominee. She has earned all-tournament selections from the John Wall Invitational in 2016, Granville Christmas Tournament in 2014 and East Guilford Christmas in 2013. Taylor is a four-time letter-winner who also has participated in volleyball and track and field. She has committed to play basketball at College of Charleston in Charleston, South Carolina.
