Girls Varsity Lacrosse Wins TISAC Championship

The Ravenscroft varsity girls lacrosse team clinched the Triangle Independent Schools Athletic Conference Championship Monday, May 7, with a 17-9 victory over Durham Academy. This was the team's first TISAC championship since 2014. They went 15-2 overall and 6-0 in conference play during the regular season.

Makayla Crawford '19 led the way with six goals. Brooke Baker '19 added three goals and three assists. Emmy Replogle '21 had two goals and two assists. Caitlyn Hankins '21 led the Ravens' defense with three takeaways and also scored two goals, while goalie Hannah Pangborn '19 had seven saves.

The Ravens expect to be a top-four seed at the NCISAA seeding meeting for postseason play, slated for Wednesday, May 9.

"I am very proud of the effort our players put in yesterday, and all season long," Coach Kerry Norman said. "They are a hardworking group of young women committed to the idea of team play, thanks in part to the good leadership of our captains, RuthAnne Winston '18, Chaz Crosby '18, Tenley Ziperski '18 and Makayla Crawford '19."
