Girls Basketball Wins Granville Central Holiday Invitational; Macy Frederiksen '20 Named Most Outstanding Player

Ravenscroft's varsity girls basketball team won the Granville Central Holiday Invitational, held Dec. 27-29, 2018. The Ravens advanced to defeat Orange High School 46-41 in the finals. The Ravens were led by Macy Frederiksen '20 with 15 points and Aliya Richmond '21 with 14 points.

The Ravens opened the tournament on Dec. 27 with a victory against South Granville 47-3. The Ravens were led by the inside-outside combo of Macy Frederiksen with 17 and Lauren Harrison '20 with 16, respectively.

In the semi-finals on Dec. 28, Ravens beat previously undefeated Vance Charter 52-33, led by Aliya Richmond with 26 points.

Macy was named the Invitational Most Outstanding Player for her three-game performance. Aliya was named All-Tournament.

Head coach Mike Ramel said of his team's performance during the tournament, "This was a great three games for our team, which really came together during the stretch. It was truly a team effort in all three games, as we had different players step up and give us big minutes in each game. The girls have shown they are ready for the tough competition in the TISAC looming ahead."
