Calvin, Weldon and Bryson qualified to wrestle at The National Prep Tournament held in Lehigh, Pennsylvania, Feb. 23-24.
Charlotte Latin placed first in the team competition with a score of 214, followed by Providence Day with a 194 and Ravenscroft with 179. Other top finishes included third place for both Davis MacNabb '19 (182) and Isaac Lamb '19 (195).
Rounding out the Ravens scoring with top six finishes for the podium were Connor Phillips '21 (106), fourth place; Sam Tabet '19 (113), sixth place; Cole Phillips '21 (120), fourth place; Christian Lee '19 (145), fourth place; Jackson Davis '19 (152), sixth place; and Fabrizzio Jiminez '21 (220), sixth place.
Coach Garrett Cummings said of the team's NCISAA showing, "This was an incredibly memorable outing at states for our seniors, as they all made it to the finals and led our team to another Top Three finish. Weldon pulling out the upset in the state finals, Calvin pinning his way through the tournament, and Bryson and Ben upsetting the No. 2 seeds in their brackets were all phenomenal performances from this class."
"I think we have some juniors and freshmen who will use the experience of winning matches at states as a motivator to springboard their growth in the off-season," he added.
