Girls Track & Field Takes Second in TISAC Championship

Ravenscroft's varsity track & field athletes made a strong showing at the 2021 TISAC Championship, held at Cary Academy May 7-8. The girls team was the conference runner-up, while the boys team placed third.

Late-season News & Observer Athlete of the Week Alex Richmond '23 won the long jump (16' 5.5"), the high jump (4' 10") and the 200 meters (26.86s) and was runner-up in the 100 meters (13.07s). Her performance earned her recognition as the runner-up for the Most Outstanding Performer of the Meet.

Teammate Zoe King '22 won the triple jump in 32' 1/4". Talia Granick '21 took third in shot put (27" 4").

The boys 4x100-meter relay team of Jonathan Phillips '21, Shane Olander '22, Julian Quao '21 and Thomas Brown '21 also won their event in 44.86s.

Coach Mike Ramel said, "Overall, the team had an abundance of outstanding performances, and we're all looking forward to finishing out the season at the state championship this coming Saturday."
