Private Lessons

Private lessons are available as a component of the music program at Ravenscroft, with most private lessons take place during the school day. The following instruments listed are available for private lessons:

Piano (grades 1-12)

Violin ((grades 1-12)

Cello (grades 2-12)

Viola (grades 2-12)

Percussion (grades 4-12)

Clarinet (grades 4-12)

Euphonium (grades 4-12)

Flute (grades 4-12)

French Horn (grades 4-12)

Saxophone (grades 4-12)

Trombone (grades 4-12)

Trumpet (grades 4-12)

Tuba (grades 4-12)

Bassoon (grades 6-12)

Oboe (grades 6-12)

Double Bass (grades 6-12)

Voice (grades 6-12)

There are two private lessons within an 8-day rotation that combine to equal 60, 70 or 80 minutes based on the registration amount chosen for each private lesson student. Depending on the grade level or instrument, lessons range from 20-50 minutes in length per lesson in the 8-day rotation. String and Band instruments are available for rent from the Fine Arts department. Current families can request enrollment in private lessons through the Parent Portal at specific times during the year.

Performing opportunities are available for private and group lessons, with an expectation that students will perform at least once a year. Recitals provide a formal performance setting, and our Friday Music Workshops offer a more informal setting for students to perform. Optional adjudication experiences are accessible through the Ravenscroft Piano and Voice Festival and the Ravenscroft Concerto/Aria Competition.

Note: Scheduling capacity may cause enrollment limitations for private study on certain instruments. Students may be placed on a waitlist until a time slot becomes available with a Private Lesson Teacher. Contact Melodie Bobbitt with questions.
