For the fourth year in a row, Ravenscroft's student-led fundraising team for Crucial Catch has been recognized as the top fundraising school in the nation, exceeding their goal of $30,000 by more than $6,000, and once again winning the prestigious Pink Cleat Award.
Strength and Conditioning
Strength and speed training has become a vital part of on the field success in sport. Ravenscroft’s Strength and Conditioning program is focused on developing young athletes to be highly competitive in their sport. Under the guidance of a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist, athletes train to increase endurance, strength, speed, and power as well as sport specific abilities.
The basis for the program is rooted in sport and exercise science as well as Olympic lifting and functional movement preparation. The goal is to increase sport performance and minimize the risk of sport related injuries. Athletes in grades 7 through 12 are introduced to our strength and conditioning program through planned team workouts during their sport season and are encouraged to participate in an off season program when not participating in a team sport.
Weight Room
- Comfort and safety: With new slip-resistant flooring and the addition of air conditioning, the weight room is now safer for all student-athletes.
- Open spaces: The new rack system enables more workout options within a smaller footprint. Open spaces will allow more students to use the facility at one time.
- More options: The versatility of the new rack system also allows for a broader range of exercise options. Each of the eight racks allows for benching, squatting and deadlifts and includes a set of dumbbells.
- Inclusiveness: A wider variety of dumbbell sizes and the addition of smaller barbells means more athletes will feel comfortable in the new space.
- Updated amenities: An upgraded sound and TV system and enhanced lighting elevates the user experience, making workouts more enjoyable and increasing the likelihood that student-athletes will choose to work out here.
