All families must apply for financial aid at TADS.com ensuring completion of the application for financial aid by the stated deadlines.
1. Visit TADS.com and create an account.
2. Complete the Financial Aid application form and pay the processing fee.
3. Upload all required documentation as noted below.
4. TADS reviews your application and works with families to ensure completion.
5. Ravenscroft reviews completed applications in the order in which they are received and determines eligibility for aid.
6. Financial aid decisions are released with notices of acceptance and included in the enrollment process provided families have completed the financial application process with TADS.
All documents must be sent directly to TADS or uploaded with your TADS financial aid application. Do not send any tax related documents to Ravenscroft.

- All candidates for admission to Ravenscroft must apply and be accepted before a financial aid award can be offered.
- Financial aid awards can only be finalized after enrollment is accepted and a financial aid grant is offered.
- Financial aid decisions are published at the same time the Admissions Office provides acceptance decision notifications.
- All decisions and notifications are made available online via the Admissions Portal.
Ravenscroft offers its families several payment options each year:
One Payment: Tuition is due in full each August.
Two Payments: 60% of tuition is due in August and 40% of tuition is due in December.
10 Monthly Payments: Using the FACTS Payment Plan, families can budget their child(ren)'s tuition payment each month.

Affordability is a significant consideration for any family considering an independent school education. Ravenscroft is committed to offering grant-based financial aid to families with demonstrated financial need.
While financial assistance is available to qualifying families, it is our policy and expectation that everyone attending Ravenscroft share in the financial responsibility of the cost of education.
Priority for financial aid is given to families completing the process within the stated deadlines. It is important to note that a delay in completing the financial aid application will affect a family's consideration for aid.
In addition to financial aid, Ravenscroft offers a variety of merit-based scholarships as noted below.
Ravenscroft is able to offer qualified students merit-based scholarships through the philanthropic generosity of our endowment program.

Fund was established in 2014 by Judy and Chip Anderson. The fund is awarded to one or two students entering ninth grade, in need of financial support and continuing annually for four years and is intended for the children or grandchildren of Ravenscroft graduates.
Nomination process: Recipients are selected by the Scholarship Committee from the pool of enrolled and applying students who meet the scholarship requirements. The next Anderson Scholar will be selected in Spring 2020.
Established in 2013, in memory of alumnus Robert Williamson, the B. Robert Williamson, Jr. ‘75 Alumni Scholarship is awarded to children or grandchildren of alumni who qualify for financial aid. Candidates are evaluated on academic strength, citizen leadership, and commitment to excellence.
Nomination process: Recipients are selected by the Scholarship Committee from the pool of enrolled and applying students who meet the scholarship requirements. The next Williamson Scholar will be selected in Spring 2020.
The Hunter Family Scholarship in the Fine & Performing Arts recognizes two new or current students entering ninth grade with a strong commitment and marked proficiency in the fine and performing arts. This scholarship funds $2,000 towards tuition for each year as well as a one-time stipend for enrichment activities in the summer.
Application Process: Rising ninth graders currently involved in band, choir, strings, drama, or visual art classes may apply for this scholarship and the recipient is announced each year in May.
The Mann Family Scholarship recognizes an outstanding student of color joining Ravenscroft for the first time in sixth or ninth grade. Candidates exhibit strong academic potential, qualities of character and leadership, and the desire to succeed at Ravenscroft. Available for students who qualify for financial aid, the scholarship funds $5,500 towards tuition for each year. Recipients are selected in the Spring; one Mann Scholar is chosen from those who apply for sixth grade and one Mann Scholar is chosen from those who apply for ninth grade.
Nomination process: Recipients are selected by the Scholarship Committee from the pool of newly enrolled and applying students who meet the scholarship requirements. Two Mann Scholars will be selected in Spring 2020.
The Maynard Family Scholarship was established to support students in Kindergarten through third grade who qualify for 90% or more of tuition.
Amount: 90% tuition discount
Nomination Process: Recipients are selected by the Scholarship Committee from the pool of newly enrolled and applying students who meet the scholarship requirements. To qualify, students must have been offered enrollment in the incoming class and must have qualified for financial aid as determined by Ravenscroft’s financial aid process. The next Maynard scholarship will be decided in Spring 2020.
The Philip C. Miller Family Scholarship recognizes a new ninth-grade student with outstanding academic achievement, exemplary character and well-rounded participation in school and community. This scholarship funds a portion of tuition for the recipient over the four years of enrollment in the Upper School. To qualify, new students must have been offered enrollment in the incoming class.
Nomination process: Recipients are selected by the Scholarship Committee from the pool of newly enrolled and applying students who meet the scholarship requirements. To qualify, students must have been offered enrollment in the incoming class. A new Philip C. Miller Scholar will be selected in Spring 2020.
The Robert P. Holding, Jr. Memorial Scholarship is awarded to two currently enrolled, rising eleventh-grade students who exhibit good character and academic excellence. The scholarship funds $1,000 a year towards tuition for eleventh and twelfth grade. Each year, two recipients are recognized at the honors assembly at the end of school.
Nomination process: Students are nominated by Ravenscroft faculty and recipients are selected by the Scholarship Committee from the pool of nominees who meet the scholarship. Two new Holding Scholars will be selected in Spring 2020.
Ravenscroft does not provide athletic scholarships for student-athletes.
We appreciate every student’s interest in Ravenscroft and have much to offer through our competitive athletic programs, which promote growth, development and citizen leadership in our student-athletes.
Ravenscroft does not actively recruit athletes to play sports. In accordance with North Carolina Independent Schools Athletic Association (NCISAA) rules: "Coaches, teachers, administrators, other school employees or persons known to be associated with the school's athletic booster club may not initiate contact with a student-athlete to encourage him or her to attend the school. Once a student has made initial contact with the School's Admissions Office, then coaches or other representatives of the school may approach the student about the school's programs."

Applications for financial aid begin in September of each year, and the deadline to complete the TADS application online is the same as the admissions application deadlines noted below.

Ravenscroft's need-based financial aid program is to support the mission of the school and our commitment to being a diverse and inclusive community providing a superior education to qualified students who could not otherwise afford to attend.
