Program description: Tea has a long, rich history. In this enrichment camp, we will take a look at different types of tea and their influence on world beverage culture. Students will learn different ways to steep tea and discuss how each tea relates to a culture and history. Topics will include different types of tea, tea ware, tea ceremony, and modern tea culture. Students will also experience tea through sight, smell, and taste. Finally they will apply their knowledge by starting a “tea tasting event” that they host at home.
Materials Needed: Tea pots, a variety tea bags or loose leaf tea, a water kettle
