Cynthia Fang

Cynthia Fang P’27 ’30 is a Partner at Bain & Company, a global management consulting firm.  She is a member of the Global Bain Executive Network (BEN) team, and a leader in BEN’s CEO and Board Centers of Excellence. In her current role, she advises Bain’s clients on CEO succession and board effectiveness and serves as an executive coach to individual client executives during key career transitions and inflection points. She has worked across a range of industries, supporting organizations on leadership and talent-related topics, with a focus on C-level and Board-level advisory services.  

Cynthia joined Bain in 2012, in the San Francisco office, and served as the Americas Regional Leader for BEN from 2016 to 2021. Prior to joining Bain, Cynthia was at Russell Reynolds Associates, a global executive search and talent assessment firm, where she was a member of their Financial Officers Practice. Her clients included Fortune 500 companies as well as private equity-backed businesses across industries. Before that, Cynthia spent 10 years in financial services. She started her career in the Fixed Income Division at J.P. Morgan in New York City, where she worked in Fixed Income Strategy and Derivatives Marketing. 

Cynthia earned a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Barnard College, Columbia University, and also completed the Urban Teaching Program, earning an elementary education certification from the New York State Education Department.

Cynthia is originally from Taiwan and spent her early childhood in Asia.  She and her husband, Victor, and their children Kayla ’27 and Carolyn ’30 moved to Raleigh from San Francisco in 2021.
