For the fourth year in a row, Ravenscroft's student-led fundraising team for Crucial Catch has been recognized as the top fundraising school in the nation, exceeding their goal of $30,000 by more than $6,000, and once again winning the prestigious Pink Cleat Award.
Laura Helton Kalorin ’92, Board Chair
Laura Helton Kalorin ’92 P’24 ’26 ’28 was a Ravenscroft “lifer.” Following high school graduation, she went to Emory University, where she was a two-time Academic All-American in volleyball. She graduated with a B.S. in biological anthropology in 1996 and continued to Emory University School of Medicine, graduating with an M.D. in 2000. Following Emory, Helton Kalorin completed residency at Duke University Medical Center in Internal Medicine and Pediatrics. In 2006, she completed the New York State Preventive Medicine Residency and a Master of Public Health at the University at Albany. She received an MBA from North Carolina State in 2016.
Helton Kalorin currently serves as Executive Director of the Helton Family Foundation and is on the Board of Directors for WakeMed Health & Hospitals. Previously, she has served as Medical Director for Alliance Medical Ministry and The New York State Department of Health Newborn Screening Program as well as Assistant Medical Director for Campus Health Services (formerly Student Health) at NC State. She has also served on the Board of Directors for the WakeMed Foundation.
Laura is married to Carmin Kalorin, a Director and Surgeon in Chief of Urology at WakeMed.
