For the fourth year in a row, Ravenscroft's student-led fundraising team for Crucial Catch has been recognized as the top fundraising school in the nation, exceeding their goal of $30,000 by more than $6,000, and once again winning the prestigious Pink Cleat Award.
Kevin Anderson ’82
Kevin T. Anderson ’82 P’11 ’14 is Managing Director and Senior Portfolio Management Director with Morgan Stanley. Building on over 35 years of investment experience, he specialized in investment management and financial planning within the Legacy Group of Morgan Stanley. Drawing on his extensive training and experience, Anderson was also the Group’s lead researcher and is responsible for due diligence of the investments in the Legacy Group’s client portfolios and researching new investment opportunities.
In addition to the design and implementation of clients’ financial plans, Anderson also specializes in fixed-income portfolio construction, trading, and rebalancing for the Legacy Group in both tax-exempt and taxable fixed-income strategy.
After earning a B.S. in accounting from Washington and Lee University, Anderson entered the investment business at Branch Cabell in Richmond, Virginia, eventually becoming their Director of Research. In 1989, he joined his father Chip ’55 and his grandfather at Legg Mason. Along the way he attained the Chartered Financial Analyst and Certified Portfolio Manager designations.
As an alum and parent of alumni, Kevin has also been very active in the Ravenscroft community. He served on Ravenscroft’s Board of Trustees for a total of six years, providing guidance and oversight on a range of committees (Educational Stewardship, Investment, Audit, Finance and Executive) before becoming board chair in 2017 and serving through June 2020, helping the school navigate the challenges of the pandemic.
In March 2023, Anderson was honored and recognized with Ravenscroft’s Distinguished Alumni Award.
