About Parent to Parent
2009-10 Meetings: March 25, April 1, 20 and 22 at 1:30 p.m. in the Parents' Association Room.
Parent to Parent is a parent education program that is used at schools and businesses across the country to help parents grapple more effectively with raising responsible, healthy teenagers and children in today's culture. Program content is delivered in a series of sessions which meet over several weeks. Each of the small group sessions includes a brief video segment and group discussion, and is led by a trained parent facilitator.
The Parent to Parent program was developed by Bill Oliver, a parent who discovered first hand how today's culture can have quick and toxic effects on even the most well-educated and well-intentioned families. He pledged to share what he learned so that others might avoid their experiences.
Topics in the series include:
The Toxic Culture
Awareness Is Your Best Friend
Traps to Avoid
Building A Family Vision
