About Ravenscroft Athletics
We appreciate your interest in Ravenscroft. At Ravenscroft, we maintain high expectations for all of our programs. Our competitive athletic programs promote growth and develop leadership skills in our student-athletes while providing them the opportunity to build meaningful and life-long relationships.
As a member of the North Carolina Independent Schools Athletic Association (NCISAA), Ravenscroft does not actively recruit athletes to play sports at our school. In accordance with NCISAA rules: “Coaches, teachers, administrators, other school employees or persons known to be associated with the school’s athletic booster club may not initiate contact with a student-athlete to encourage him or her to attend the school. Once a student has made initial contact with the school’s admissions office, then coaches or other representatives of the school may approach the student about the school’s programs.”
Ravenscroft School does not provide athletic scholarships for student-athletes.

Ms. Michelle Piette
M.S., Physical Education & Sports Medicine, University of Wisconsin, Lacrosse, Wis.
Michelle Piette joined Ravenscroft as Athletic Trainer in 1985 and became a full-time faculty member the following year. She is a National Board Certified Athletic Trainer, and during her tenure at Ravenscroft, the school’s Athletic Training program has evolved into a high school model that is second to none.
Piette has contact with each of the 50 athletic teams at Ravenscroft. In addition to her duties with all these teams, she teaches an Upper School sports medicine class which produces the team of student athletic trainers who assist Michelle in the treatment and supervision of all the medical needs of Ravenscroft’s student-athletes.
Her duties at Ravenscroft have taken her beyond the campus as she served on the North Carolina Independent School Athletic Association Board of Managers for eight years, and was also appointed by the Senate Pro-Temp to the N.C. Board of Athletic Trainer Examiners in 2006. She is currently serving her second term on the board.
In January 2010, Piette was named the North Carolina Athletic Trainers’ Association Secondary School Athletic Trainer of the Year. She was inducted into the Ravenscroft Sports Hall of Fame in 2006 and has also received the school’s prestigious Helton Award for Teaching Excellence.
