From alumni to parents, to students to faculty and staff, the Ravenscroft community came together over the last month to support those affected by Hurricane Matthew. Several members of the faculty, staff, and students led the efforts to collect donated items and deliver them to communities such as Lumberton, Kinston, and Fayetteville, many with personal ties to family and friends in those areas hit the hardest.

A few years ago, Patrick Knox and Marcia Ostendorff, leaders of the Sustainability Committee, proposed submitting an application to UTOTES, or Using the Outdoors to Teach Experiential Science, a program hosted by the North Carolina Museum of Natural Sciences that teaches educators how to use the outdoors for their classroom lessons.

From facilitating problem solving during math to offering feedback on lab reports, Upper School Bigger Buddy volunteers offer support and guidance, as well as serve as role models and friends on campus for the Lower School Ravens.

Sixty-five students in the class of 2016, 36 students in the class of 2017, and two students in the class of 2018 earned AP Scholar status in recognition of their exceptional achievement on AP exams.

The 2016 Fall Varsity Sports Award winners were honored at a ceremony held on Sunday, November 13th. Congratulations to our student athletes and coaches for another fantastic fall season!

Congratulations to four Ravenscroft School senior student-athletes who signed official National Letters of Intent to play collegiate athletics! In keeping with Ravenscroft tradition, students signed their letters of intent in front of family, friends, and coaches.

Adam W. Jones, author, husband, and father, graduated from Ravenscroft in 1982. His time spent at Ravenscroft has stuck with him over the last few decades, helping shape him into the writer he is today.
