Upper School students who have a passion for and curiosity about global issues, world languages, and travel are encouraged to seek an International Diploma. This option includes curricular, extracurricular, and travel/hosting requirements, as well as a global senior internship component.
"My experiences with the Ravenscroft International Diploma have helped me become a stronger, more confident leader.
I studied refugee-aid programs in Wake County, particularly the North Carolina Refugee Assistance Program, which works with Lutheran Services and volunteer teachers from Wake Technical Institute to teach English as a Second Language to refugees in the county. The fact that the refugees were not only taught English, but a true application of the language to everyday life, showed me how the key to understanding others is to understand their various cultures and backgrounds.
Through my pursuit of the Ravenscroft International Diploma, I have become more involved in extracurricular activities, serving my community, more knowledgeable about global challenges, and ultimately more dedicated to everything that I am a part of. I cannot think of anything to add to the program except for its further promotion in order to have more participants in the coming years."
