Ravenscroft Welcomes 4 New Trustees

Ravenscroft is pleased to announce the following new members on its board of trustees.

Mr. Thomas H. Mann is currently a Senior Advisor to Genworth Financial’s leadership team, a role which he assumed in January 2010. Previously, Mann was Executive Vice President – Genworth with responsibility for the Company’s International Segment. His previous roles included both financial and business leadership positions with General Electric and GE Capital. He was a member of the GE leadership team that completed the initial public offering in May 2004 that resulted in the creation of Genworth Financial. Mann’s three children are graduates of Ravenscroft.

Ms. Caryn Coppedge McNeill is a partner at Smith Anderson, where she leads the law firm's Employee Benefits and Compensation practice. McNeill's experience includes advising clients about all aspects of the design, implementation and administration of employee benefit plans, including retirement plans, welfare plans and executive compensation arrangements. Her professional and community involvement includes service on the Board of Governors of the North Carolina Bar Association and the Board of Directors of the YWCA of the Greater Triangle. McNeill has two students enrolled at Ravenscroft.

Mrs. Mary M. Moss
is co-founder and partner of moss+ross, a Strategic Development Consulting firm. Her fundraising career spanned more than three decades at three area schools, and included overseeing the development program at Ravenscroft from 1990-2001. Moss is an active community volunteer, currently serving as a member of the board of directors of the New Voices Foundation and as a member of the Raleigh Downtown Rotary. She is a member of the Elon University Parents Council and served as Chair of the Elon University Parents Annual Fund program with her husband, Bill. Moss’ three sons are graduates of Ravenscroft.

Mr. Lee H. Roberts is a managing director of MetWest Realty Advisors, a real estate private equity firm based in Los Angeles, and co-founder and principal of MetWest Carolinas. Until founding a predecessor entity of MetWest Carolinas in 2008, Roberts was a partner at Cherokee Investment Partners, a real estate private equity firm based in Raleigh. Prior to joining Cherokee, Roberts spent nine years at Morgan Stanley in London and New York. He serves on the Board of Visitors of the Sanford School of Public Policy at Duke University and on the board of the Duke University Alumni Association. Roberts has two children attending Ravenscroft.

The Ravenscroft board is an elected group of 23 volunteers that determines the policies that govern the School, oversees the School’s strategic planning process, and has fiduciary responsibility for approving the annual operating budget and capital expenditures.
