Mysteries, Mazes, and Magic

Location: Holding Hall Lower School, Seminar Room
Description: Harry Potter fans and mystery buffs will both enjoy sharpening their math, reading, and critical thinking skills in this fun course. The students will work cooperatively in teams and sometimes individually for an exciting week of activities: math tournaments, mental challenges, problem/crime solving, puzzles, “who done it” role playing, and physical activities. Students will be grouped by ages and will be given tasks that will challenge their individual age levels. Come join our battle of wits!
Instructors: Anna Gardiner, a former Ravenscroft teacher, has continued to teach summer camps for the last twenty-four years here at school. Joined by her husband, also an accomplished educator, they make an exciting team to inspire any student! Anna has earned titles such as Wake County and Johnston County Teacher of the Year semi-finalist for several years. Ron Gardiner is a second grade teacher, a military veteran and a past recipient of the Walmart Teacher of the Year Award. Come experience their incredible projects that inspire students to understand that learning is a life-long endeavor that is fun, challenging and builds self-esteem.
