Upper School

The Ravenscroft Upper School is a community dedicated to the pursuit of excellence, a process coupled with a commitment to helping each student recognize and develop their individual talents.

Each year we seek to offer a program characterized by new challenges and experiences, and the members of the Upper School faculty relish the opportunity to work with students and their families as they respond to the challenges and learn from the experiences, all the while seeking to impart additional lessons that transcend the formal in-class instruction.

The challenges in particular are an inherent part of the Upper School experience. They are real and they are substantive -- and they are invaluable, for we believe learning to respond to challenges is at the heart of the educational process and that we are a place, a community, that not only values that process but that also offers human and humane support for its members as they seek to respond. Whether in or out of the classroom, whether formal or informal, such interactions occur throughout the Upper School, ensuring that this is a place where individuals can test themselves, take risks, and know that they will be supported in those efforts. That is the essence of a supportive and nurturing educational environment, and it is at the heart of the Ravenscroft Upper School experience.
