Seven Ravenscroft Upper School Band students participate in the University of North Carolina at Wilmington Honor Band Clinic Nov. 30-Dec. 2, 2017.
After an on-site audition for ensemble placement and chair position, the students participated in three days of rehearsals, attended clinics and enjoyed concerts by the UNCW Ensembles. The clinic was attended by 215 students whom were selected from a pool of 350 nominees, representing 35 schools.
Two of Ravenscroft students were selected to participate in the Blue Ensemble under the direction of Phillip Riggs, Grammy Award winner and Director of Bands at the North Carolina School of Math and Science.
Five students were selected to perform in the top band, the Teal Ensemble, under the direction of Dominic Talanca, Director of Bands at UNCW.
Both ensembles performed a concert on the last day.
