As Director of Auxiliary Programs, Sandy Kapatos provides general strategic and management oversight in areas such as summer programs, facilities utilization, and for services such as Extended Day and the School Bookstore. From 1985-2001, he was the founder and owner of SK Specialty Company, a fabrication and maintenance business for cutting tools. In 2001, he became the Assistant Athletic Director at Adelphi University. Sandy is also an accomplished lacrosse coach, and is responsible for leading our program at Ravenscroft. He coached at Adelphi, a Division II school, for 13 years, winning four Division II national championships and being named conference coach of the year three times and national coach of the year in 2001. Sandy also was president and owner of The Long Island Summer Lacrosse League, a thriving camp for over 800 participants at multiple sites on Long Island. Mr. Kapatos was inducted into the Long Island Lacrosse Hall of Fame in the spring of 2008. In 2012, he was named the US Lacrosse Boys Coach of the Year for North Carolina private schools.
Dan Ressner is a 1999 graduate of Ravenscroft. He returned to the School in the fall of 2005 as a coach for boys soccer and lacrosse, and has served at the Middle School, JV and Varsity levels for both sports. He is currently an Assistant Coach for both the Varsity Boys Soccer and Lacrosse teams.
Since 2001, Mr. Ressner has held the position of Assistant to Auxiliary Services and Summer Programs.
He earned his B.A. in Government and Public Policy from Franklin & Marshall College, where he played for the men’s soccer team for two seasons. He completed his M.A. in International Studies at N.C. State University with a focus in International Politics.
Prior to working at Ravenscroft, Mr. Ressner was employed by the International Affairs Council of North Carolina.
